About Jay Fest

Jay Fest was created in 2009 and organised to celebrate the life of Jason Fisher who passed away suddenly in 2008.  It is to celebrate the loves of Jason’s life: friends, live music, festivals and socialising.  Anyone who knew Jason would know that he truly lived life to the fullest, attending any festival or night out that he could.

His love for music and partying is why we held Jay Fest 2009, so that his memory lives on, and his contagious energy is remembered.  The event was organised by his friends and family in aid of Stoke Mandeville ITU, as a thank you for the support this department gave Jason and his family in his last days.

Everyone is welcome whether you knew Jason or not. The reason behind the festival is to raise as much money as possible for charity, as well as it being a time for friends and family to have a great day listening to good music.

Donations this year will again be made to the Stoke Mandeville Intensive Therapy Unit.

After the success of 2009, JayFest returned in 2010

The festival was back again to make you guys dance your socks off, support the hospital but more importantly to celebrate Jason’s life! After such a great response from the first year, the capacity of the festival was doubled in size! The festival saw 1,200 revellers through the gate throughout the day!!!

2010 saw the festival start to form character, this in the form of Luniz City tent with its dark and seedy feel and alternative genre’s of music from reggae to hip hop to dance.

2010 also saw the outdoor stage return and change its name to the Grassy Knoll. With its white picket fence and grassy surround it soon became a key part of the festival with bands such as The Black Hats and Charlie Coombes and The New Breed headlining and closing the stage. Just to mix it up a little, some hip hop was thrown in for good measure just as the sun was setting!

Faulty towers went off BIG again for the second year running with a mixture of drum and bass and dub-step featuring our very own MBlaze showing off the skills. The tent was full right to the very end when we had no choice but to pull the plug ready for closing the festival for another year.

The Electric circus also didn’t disappoint with Ronnie Ronson and friends (one making the journey all the way from bonnie Scotland to play and support the cause!). Each DJ playing the very best in electro till the early hours of the morning!!
